Here are our Tortoiseshell Kittens, Chloe and Isabel, sleeping together in the shape of a heart.
This little eight-week-old Lab is pretty much the sweetest little guy that ever lived. He is here at our shelter on the lookout for his forever family. We’re sure he won’t be here very long! Submitted by the Humane Society of Morgan County Georgia.
Here are some photos of Thunder. Thunder was an Australian Terrier cross, but he passed away after being bitten by an Eastern Brown snake on the 26th of November 2015. I would really appreciate if you would share his photos because I want to keep his memory alive. He died a few days before his 11th birthday (1st of December 2015). We adopted him on the 2nd of February 2007 from the RSPCA, an animal rescue organization here in Australia. Thunder used to love chasing lizards in the garden and rolling around on the grass. Something cute about Thunder is that whenever I picked up his leash he knew he was going for a walk, so he would jump up really high and nearly push me over because he was so excited. Anika is a lean and vibrant, almost three-year-old girl ready to run and play. Her beautiful eyes pull you in and she will adorn you with attention when given the opportunity. Submitted by the Humane Society of Morgan County Georgia.
Willow is a sweet, petite little Shepherd mix. She is about four or five months old, good with kids, and loves other dogs. See that look? She’s saying, “Are you going to take me home?” Submitted by Petaluma Pet Pals.
Our friends at Petaluma Pet Pals put on a gigantic rummage every year to raise money so that they can take care of animals in need. Check it out…
Joey is the perfect gentleman for anyone looking for a faithful companion. At just one year old, he has not met a creature on two legs or four that he does not like. Joey is just an all-around great guy looking for a forever home. Submitted by Scooter’s Pals Dog Rescue.
Mr. Bojangles has been a loved member of our family since he was 9 weeks old. He has been socialized with children, cats, and dogs. He is affectionate, highly intelligent, and loves to cuddle and play. He knows a handful of tricks and can sit, stay, and “go to bed.” Mr. Bojangles is a coonhound. This means that he is a “talker” who likes to bark and he will stop at nothing once he catches a scent. If we could provide a fully enclosed environment or a very large ranch situation with no neighbors we would keep him. However, we are only able to provide a wireless fence, and when he catches a scent the fence does not stop him. He crosses the fence almost daily to chase wildlife.
Mr. Bojangles would benefit from a human who could take him running, hunting, or give him a “job” to do. He is accustomed to lots of land and the companionship of other dogs and kids. He sometimes gets territorial around male dogs, but only on his own property. He can also be territorial about his food so its best to feed him away from other dogs. If properly introduced and trained he may be able to adapt to living with other male dogs.
He is a good climber, so a chain link fence won’t contain him. He will need enough neighbor-free land where he can run free. A very tall fence might work, but he might try to dig under it if he was bored, and he can climb shorter fences. Bojangles is a country boy and a working dog. He needs strong guidance and lots of play but promises to be a beloved friend and companion. Submitted by Scooter’s Pals Dog Rescue.
Blanca is a sweet, loving Lab mix girl that was originally rescued from a bad situation. Those amazing ears tell us that she could be part English Setter. She is gentle and gets along with other dogs, and gets very attached to people. She needs lots of activity (a big English Setter trait), and would make a great running partner!
