Evie the German Shepherd

Evie the German Shepherd

This is Evie, a two year old German Shepherd. She was rescued along with more than 500 other German Shepherds from a breeder who was shut down in southern Georgia. She arrived weighing only 32 pounds, very dirty, had intestinal problems, and was hairless from skin infections. But, that was back in January and things have gotten so much better since then!

She had all of those nasty parasites taken care of. She has had more baths than she would care to count. She has been fed and brushed and loved. Evie has learned how to sit and walk on a leash. She took a scent work class to gain confidence and learn to problem solve. And she has gained 40 pounds! She even learned how to sit and is working on laying down.

Evie gets along with all the other dogs of all sizes in her foster home. She is a little afraid of the cat. She likes everyone, but like many Shepherds, she does like to bark at strangers, especially that sneaky UPS driver that comes. She likes to ride in the car, and does very well in her kennel. She loves to be very close to her people, so snuggling is a must. Her ideal forever home will have another dog for her to play with, a fenced in yard, and a family with Shepherd experience. Submitted by the Humane Society of Morgan County, Georgia.
