Winnie the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier

Winnie the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier

Winnie is six months old and loves to be around people and dogs alike. She recently completed puppy school, where she was voted “most social.” She loves being somewhere cold, playing with her toys, and going for walks. She also loves climbing on her human sister and chasing leaves in the wind. Submitted by Clare S.

Amazingly beautiful! I’ve been looking at different breeds of dogs. I’m in need of a service dog. And my solid black German Shepherd sheds enough for a whole pack.? We adore him. This breed and is such a great one.

I’m looking to adopt a wheaten terrier. If you can direct me to a rescue place I would appreciate it. This site appears to be old.

Winnie already belongs to a member of my list who submitted pictures of her. Most of the dogs featured on my website are submitted by people who are the dogs’ owners.

Oh I am in love with Winnie and hope to adopt one just like her. I lost my 9 1/2 yr old pup 3 months ago. He was Lab Pitt mix so I want a totally different look in my new baby.
If you can help I would appreciate it. Thank you

All wheatens are extremely adorable and very precious. They are also very active when they are young and good training is a must to have a wheaten and a family. Our second one is 12 years old and unfortunately she is our last As we are too old to start with another dog, whether a rescue or a puppy.
I will always say this and many will disagree, our first dog was what is now called a rescuer the same as what we had. We got him when We first got married and four years later we had our daughter. It may have been my inexperience but i knew that I had to keep my daughter and the dog apart. Unfortunately I was right. I have never seen any thing as vicious when she lightly put her hand on his back, and I mean lightly. She was just getting her feet and he turned around and went for her face. Luckily he did not make contact with her face, he would have destroyed it. That was it for the dog. We found wheatens 7 years after that and have been in love with them ever since.
Good luck in your journey to find a rescue. Just please make note that not all rescues are the same as what we had, but then they do have some background. It is not always better to adopt.
